WP0 – Project Management
Objectives
Guarantee: the successful completion of the project within agreed time, cost and quality, compliance with the EC standard and procedures for the project management and tracking, an effective communication among the consortium partners.
WP1 – Privacy-aware trajectory warehouse
Objectives
The goals are twofold. A first goal is to devise an adequate model to be used as basis for building warehouses specialized for the management and the analysis of large collection of “trajectory” data; based on this model a reference architecture will be developed. The model and the architecture will be used as basis for the activities in the other WPs. The second goal is to investigate privacy issues related to a data warehouse, containing “trajectory” data, while developing the model and the architecture. Therefore, our goal is to develop a data warehouse system that has all the built-in mechanisms required to ensure privacy and security.
WP2 – Privacy-aware spatio-temporal DM patterns and algorithms
Objectives
This WP has several objectives:
- to design, implement and test algorithms for spatio-temporal data mining, specifically for trajectories of moving bodies;
- to provide scalable versions of the algorithms by utilizing techniques and approaches such as database integration of mining algorithms or incremental learning;
- to propose methods for effectively protecting the privacy of the data and to investigate the impact of the anonymization and data perturbation on the mining results.
WP3 – Geographic knowledge interpretation and delivery
Objectives
This WP has three major objectives. The first objective is to design and provide a preliminary prototype of a data mining pattern language in which the data mining tasks can be formulated, which represents the basis of an integrated GeoPKDD support environment. The second objective is develop mechanisms for reasoning both on background knowledge and extracted patterns from DM algorithms. The third objective is the visualization of trajectories and data mining patterns in space and time. The visualization is simultaneously the output and endproduct of the knowledge discovery cycle and the starting point for further, often interactive and visual, analysis.
WP4 – Application demonstrators
Objectives
This activity involves the preliminary design of the GeoPKDD platform, comprising the collection and management of a representative sample of the database (e.g. aggregated spatiotemporal locations of mobiles), finalized to the realization of the selected application demonstrators. We envisage two demonstrators: one in a selected societal application (developed by WUR) and one in mobile network optimization (developed by WIND). The nature of the demonstrators will possibly be different: while we expect that the societal application may reach the status of a concrete prototype, the mobile network application is more likely to reach the status of a simulator for feasibility assessment, due to the complexity of interacting with the mobile network data management infrastructure.
Inputs for this WP are the different results coming from WP1, WP2 and WP3.
WP5 – Harmonization and dissemination
Objectives
Harmonize the project with European and national privacy regulations and authorities. Analyze the potential applications and market for the GeoPKDD paradigm, define the exploitation plan and disseminate the project results in different forums.
