In the proposed approach, the various activities can be structured into four logical and partially overlapping macro-phases, spanning over the whole project duration of 36 months.
Phase 1 – Alignment and Road Map (month 0 – 5): The objective of this phase is to ensure that goals for the different project partners are aligned with project goals, to create the premises for a successful communication among project partners, to perform a shared recognition on the state-of-art, and to achieve a common plan and road-map of investigation and experiments. In this phase the observatory of privacy regulations will be set up, in tight collaboration with authorities and organizations addressing privacy and security issues.
Phase 2 – Investigation (month 3 – 29): This is the core research phase – its objective is to create, formalize and experiment the theory and techniques for GeoPKDD, and share the achievements among the participants. In this phase, the requirements from the addressed class of applications and from regulation issues are considered.
Phase 3 – Tools design and development (month 12 – 29): The objective of this phase is to design and realize the software tools conceived within the research activity, and to experiment and validate such tools within the consortium.
Phase 4 – Demonstrators design and development (month 12 – 35): The objective of this phase is to build the selected application demonstrators. In this phase the observatory of privacy regulations will be consolidated in order to exploit the project results synergically with authorities and organizations addressing privacy and security issues.
